Say What?! (Quote of the Week): I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston

What up Paper Chasers, it's ur gurl LoudPen with this week's, Say What?! (Quote of the Week) which is I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston/Mama Whit. As you may or may not know, I am currently profiling Mama Whit to celebrate her many contributions to the music industry. Today, I wanted to post the video of this song & shout out all my blog followers & loyal readers. And of course, we'll be discussing the lyrics to this song.

This song is essentially a beautiful ballad designed to make you feel love & want love. I Have Nothing is a very simple song and it makes the assertion that I will love you for who you are & without you, I am an empty soul i.e. I have nothing. I Have Nothing was on the Bodyguard soundtrack which is one of my favorite movie soundtracks. This soundtrack is what solidified Whitney's hold on pop culture as she starred in the Bodyguard with Kevin Costner. The Bodyguard was released in 1992 and is in my opinion, a classic romantic film. However, this is me getting off topic again so let me get back to the point.

I wanted to post this video today, because, it is one of Whitney's best songs ever and the video is fab! Also, I wanted to shout out loyal readers because like Whitney, without y'all, I would have nothing. This blog would simply be another blog, but, loyal readers are what keep me going. Yesterday, when I made my big announcement, I received nothing but words of postivity & encouragement. My readership is finally starting to grow & I feel like I'm headed in the right direction.
